Coastal City Positano Charming

The city small has several hundred roof coastal springs that only 3,000 people, but the travel book about Italy that's sure to be the city's most photographed beach in the world.

I said to Positano and the Amalfi Coast (Costiera Amalfitana) in a different way: a romantic movie with footage of a beautiful true love Italian style with sad ending. But Positano as well as the cities along the coast of southern Italy, from Salerno, Positano and Sorrento through, never bring sadness and loneliness for anyone.

The hotel is old but I was on a cliff next to the sea. Balcony with arms outstretched like an invite and just open the door and two wooden ri city is full of white paint spilled into the room wildly. It was a full moon night in June in the Gulf of Salerno. The moonlight shimmering on the water stretches in front. Waves in the wind banging loudly on the cliffs towering behind. The bright light from Praiano nearby fence looks like the headlights of a giant ship just sticking your nose out of the estuary. The wind rustle the leaves flutter and fly out the window coverings that make the white in it looked out, many eyes are watching the sea at night. A ship painted a gleaming white long water lines cross the sea.

Twisting road runs below the tree line along the coast as a connecting wire between the world: the world of sea and sky that is not a bit of green color cloudless Mediterranean air that sometimes as a can not detect where is the horizon, the world of mountain cliffs and the world of the small town in the mountains close to the sea run over a length of over 50 kilometers of Sorrento peninsula, which known as the Amalfi Coast (Costiera Amalfitana). This is the beach that never sleeps, as the sand waves thousands of years, that the dawn and dusk makes it like heaven.

No wonder they call it the country's most beautiful coastline Italy. That did not last through any poll ever, but because poetry and music gave Amalfi coast into the world of romance. But also do not need any art music to poetry to express what it: anyone standing in front of the sea and watch a cool blue eyes to the horizon, the roof runs from the mountains to the sea, to a blazing balcony colored paper flowers, can become poetry.

Green became a clear impression can never fade in mind those who have gone through the zigzag and narrow path barely two lanes bending in the mountains along the coast with hundreds folded corners, stopped in the small town on that road, or bathing in the cool water at the beach is the most beautiful Italy.

Sorrento is the largest city of the peninsula called it. That immortal song De Curtis brothers wrote titled "Back Sorriento" mentioned as a marine inspired sweet love "Look how beautiful the sea, evoking how passionate affection" (vide mare spin 'è bello, tanto sprira sentimento). The song was released more than a century ago. That day, Sorrento and Positano is still pristine, perhaps poverty and, unlike a table full of colorful and poetic as it is now.

But Sorrento hardly evoke emotion overwhelmed by the beauty of the sky, the sea and the houses look like toys puzzle running springs at the foot of the top headlines on the cliff, the tiny streets and steep run one-way winding white painted houses in Positano. Positano is lemon yellow, famous specialty stuff that only new Sorrento peninsula and the products such as lemon juice, lime juice fermentation (Limoncello) and candles, red and purple flowers of the paper is bending rig elaborate on the walls, the porch or balcony, white villas and a hotel where the celebrities as Jacqueline Kennedy, Rudolf Nureyev, Frank Sinatra, Gore Vidal, the platters or the Rolling Stones 've visited (Mick Jagger and Keith Richards wrote "Midnight Ramblers" in 1969 in a coffee shop in Positano), and embraces all, deep blue.

Can not help but feel touched deeply to hear about a couple passing by on the narrow streets of Positano, Bank guy to post "Azzurro" (blue) of Adriano Celentano, a hustle guy on board to catch up on holiday lover: "blue, blue afternoon too for him / he found himself no longer bit life without you in the side / he jumped ship and toward you."

The attraction of this small town strangely large. And if Celentano sang like the 1960, is the soul of the artist realized the beauty of the city is probably just one look. Hundreds of thousands of tourists come here every year just because of that look, and they are never disappointed, because only the smallest details of its city well enough to go into poetry, such a church roof, a tower small seaside farm with 6 centuries ago, or a ceramic plate very nicely.

Positano was a fishing village poor in the early 20th century and until the 1950s, when American author John Steinbeck wrote an article about it in the magazine Harper's Bazaar in 1953, Positano (and then, Sorrento and the island Capri) is internationally known. He wrote: "Positano is a true dream even when you are there and it suddenly becomes real when you just step away." The old people of the city can tell us stories about mermaids and still show up in Positano offshore, between the blue waters of the moonlit night to seduce the sailors on the ship's Ulysse guy in "Odissey". If Greek mythology referring to the girl's half-human, half fish, the sea was certainly Positano.

The fairy tale only adds to the appeal of an exotic land, where more than 60 kilometers from a different world, sleazy, chaotic, robbery and Camorra (mafia Napoli). Positano is not aware of it. The beauty of its images broadcast around the world every day still attracts many tourists visit and express their love for the sun and sea.

But the romantic Hollywood movies just here looking for lyrical landscape to highlight the hidden corners of love. In "Only You" (1994), her dreamy Faith (Marisa Tomei) to find dream lover named Damon Bradley on Italian soil, chasing his shadow everywhere, from the land of Umbria, via Roma, eventually found him on the famous Le Sirenuse hotel in Positano and disillusionment know when a guy just ignored the trick.

In "Under the Tuscan Sun" (2003), Frances (Diane Lane) is Marcello (Raoul Bova) leads to Positano, on the coast road, with his convertible car. The American women think that it is a new beginning on Italian soil after the divorce. On return to Positano, she stood under the balcony in the sunset house, far away from the city is peaceful and quiet witness a love story. She called and collapse eager to see Italian heartthrob has another girl standing on the balcony waiting for him ...

It is said that Italians do not exist, and those who think that the Italians are always nested in the birthplace. No Italy, only those born in wealthy north and poor south. Born in Torino and Palermo itself has so much to say. But what people think when someone Positano assigned to their city nicknamed "broken heart", as it seems the natural beauty of the earth was not as fast as human heart change?

Positano night only waves. The light from the cafe inside the railing overlooking the sparkling sea spilled out. The steep path leading to the church of Santa Maria Assunta in the city center engulfed in light and dark patches. The moonlight shines through the leaf of a red paper flower terrace property parcels. Sea still inactive OAP at the bottom, the vehicle still slick polished game run through the night on the road, and yonder, Positano lit like a jewel. I know, I can always come back one day ....
